Finally made it

After a bit of a venture I finally made it to the lodge. There are some awesome people here and feels like a really comfortable environment for any lover of the Nihon-pow. Clayton and I scoped some potential jump spots from the road and once the snow picks up some stuff is going to get thrown down.

Where to start? Well my first impression of Japan was hampered by Japanese immigration. It seems they had me confused for someone who wanted to blow up the country as they sat me in a room for 2 hours without telling me anything. Once they figured out my name wasn't Osama Bin Laden, they took me to the advisor of immigration who finally gave me a visa and let me enter the country...an hour after my connect flight left to Sapporo. So I go up to the hotel information for tourists and they point me in the direction of a shuttle I can take to a hotel 20 minutes from the airport.

I actually am somewhat glad I got to experience a part of Japan not too familiar with foreigners. I found some random upstairs cafe where I met Shingeru (a bad ass Samurai looking chef). Interaction was a bit difficult as his English and my Japanese were both very limited, but I figure I left a good impression since he gave me my meal for half the yen of the menu price.

Things dually noted about Japan:
-I am a gaijin (aka foreigner).
-If you catch someone looking at you they will immediately look away and ignore you unless you start conversing with them.
-People are generally shocked if you can even say one phrase in Japanese

That's all for now. Going to shred tomorrow and get some pictures/videos underway.
